Georgetown Finds Their Next Head Coach, Sign Ed Cooley
It looks like Ed Cooley is finally becoming the next head coach of Georgetown University, truly becoming “The American Dream”. Cooley spent his last 12 years at Providence coaching the Friars to a 242-153 record, including 7 NCAA appearances, a Big East regular season championship, and a Big East Conference Tournament Championship. Cooley was also named the 2021-22 Big East Coach of the Year and Naismith National Coach of the Year. The 2021-22 season was Cooley’s best as a college coach. Providence went 27-6 (14-3 in the Big East) and made the Sweet Sixteen before losing to Kansas. But Cooley’s animated personality and loud coaching style attracted fans and he was able to show off what kind of coach he is. And now a year later he has become the top name to land and try to bring back one of the more historical brands in the sport.
