Jordan Montgomery of the Texas Rangers Hallelujah! It might happen.  The Red Sox have a chance to do something AMAZING. They could do what the fans, players, executives, and analysts have been saying to do for the entire offseason.  The Red Sox have a chance to sign Jordan Montgomery.  On Monday morning, Buster Olney reported that Jordan Montgomery and the Boston Red Sox ‘recently met over Zoom.  Six days ago, Rafael Devers said in his press conference that the team “needs to be more conscious of what are the weaknesses and what we need right now.” Naturally, the reporter asked,  “What do you need right now?”  Devers’ response? He laughed and said, “Everybody knows what we need, you know what we need and they know what we need. It’s just some things that I can’t say.” Well Rafael, thank you for saying that. In his time after succeeding Dave Dombrowski after the 2019 season, the Red Sox finished in last place in the AL East three out of four years. Outside of the most random ALCS run of all time in 2021, the Red Sox have been atrocious. Chaim Bloom did, however, do some good things. The Red Sox farm system has improved tremendously, some of which can be credited to high draft picks, but the future after Bloom is immensely better than the future after Dombrowski. Since Craig Breslow was hired before the Winter Meetings and since then….yikes.
